Dark & Moody Bathroom Finishes

We had a client come to us who was building a brand new house and wanted some help with the finishes of the bathrooms. This client wanted to go for dark and moody bathrooms and for us to come up with something they wouldn't have thought about doing or didn't dare to do themselves.

In the main bathroom we chose a tall, fluted, black marble wall tile to line the bottom half of the room and set the tone. We then paired this with dark stone effect LVT tiles and drenched the walls and ceiling in a deep muddy red/brown paint to enclose the room, making it feel warm and cosy. We chose a black wall radiator, along with a curved black vanity with brass fixtures for the sink and bath we had selected to give a bit of contrast. Our clients were unsure on the bold paint colour at first, but trusted our judgement and now love the overall look of their main bathroom. This room is now called the volcanic room!

In the en-suite we used the same fixtures for consistency but went with a slightly softer feel. We started off with the green and dark grey subway tiles which we decided to lay in a different pattern to your usual subway tiles. This makes the tiles look more decorative and is something unique to this house. We then drenched the walls and ceiling in an olive coloured paint to bring that moody effect our clients wanted and paired this with a dark grey and cream patterned LVT to bring more personality to the en-suite.

We are so pleased our clients trusted our judgement with the designs of these two bathrooms and stepped out of their comfort zone. They are so happy with the results and say everyone who visits them loves the colours in their bathrooms which is wonderful to hear.
We are now working together on the rest of the home to create more unique and amazing spaces.
